“When connection keeps breaking down and weekly therapy feels too slow… change can start to feel exhausting and hopeless”
Private Intensives and Retreats for Couples in Ontario
You’ve come so far in this life you’ve built together but somewhere along the way it feels like you lost each other. Maybe you’re stuck at a crossroad, unsure of which direction to take. Do you stay and repair? Or let go and move on?
Maybe it’s the never-ending conflict. Every conversation turns into an argument and every argument into a battle. Maybe there’s been betrayal or infidelity. You’re left questioning if you can ever feel safe with each other again. Or maybe you’ve tried everything, even therapy. And while things change for some time, eventually the arguments circle back, the wounds still sting, and the distance grows stronger.
Intensives can provide extended and dedicated time to slow down, dive deeper, and create lasting change that reaches the roots and paves the path for deeper connection and intimacy.

Working with Nicole: Inside the Intensive Experience
-
I am direct and compassionate in my approach. I will hold space for you both and take the time to truly understand each of your individual experiences.
At the same time, I’ll be direct and honest about what I notice. I’ll reflect back the patterns I see playing out in your relationship and share how I believe they’re keeping you stuck.
-
My focus is not just on each of you as individuals, but on the relationship itself – how patterns of connection, disconnection, and repair have developed over time.
The goal is to understand what happens between you when things feel difficult, and to help you shape those interactions into ones that promote and sustain meaningful connection.
-
The unconscious patterns – your triggers, knee-jerk reactions, and automatic responses – is why you and your partner get stuck in the same arguments time after time.
When we slow down, we can begin to uncover the unconscious patterns that shape the way you relate to one another. Bringing the unconscious mind into conscious awareness is the root of long-lasting change.
-
I offer depth-oriented therapy that focuses on the underlying emotional and relational roots of distress, rather than only addressing surface-level symptoms or behaviours.
Together we will explore how past experiences, attachment patterns, and the nervous system shape the ways you and your partner respond to stress, conflict, and closeness.
It is the deeper work that supports meaningful, lasting change that touches the roots and goes far beyond temporary improvement.

Relational skills weren’t taught in school and many of us move through life never having learned what it truly means to be relational.
Part of our work together will be learning practical relational skills because healing happens not just through insight, but through learning how to do things differently.

Working with Nicole: Inside the Intensive Experience
My hope is to offer you a glimpse into what it would be like to work together. From the approach I take to the kind of space I hold in our sessions as a relational, depth-oriented therapist.
I am direct and compassionate – I will hold space for both of you and take the time to truly understand each of your experiences. At the same time, I’ll be direct and honest about what I notice in our work together. I’ll reflect back the patterns I see playing out between you and share how I believe they’re keeping you stuck.
I am relational – My focus is not just on each of you as individuals, but on the space between you: the patterns, dynamics, and emotional experiences that shape your relationship. I pay close attention to how you interact with each other and help you to shape those interactions into ones that promote and sustain deeply meaning connection.
I will help you slow down – When we slow down, we begin to uncover the unconscious patterns that shape the way we relate to one another. These patterns – your triggers, knee-jerk reactions, and automatic responses – is why you get stuck in the same arguments time after time. Bringing the unconscious mind into conscious awareness is where all change begins.
I will invite you to do the deeper work – Our past can profoundly influence how we show up in relationships today. Early attachment injuries and unhealed pain can shape the ways we protect ourselves when connecting with others. Often, these tender parts of us need space to heal before our protective defenses can truly soften and allow deeper connection to emerge. It’s through doing the deeper work that we can create change that is truly transformational and long-lasting.
I will teach you relational skills – In a world that celebrates independence and self-sufficiency, we’re rarely taught what it truly means to be relational. Part of our work together will be learning practical new ways of relating because healing happens not just through insight but through learning how to do things differently.
